HOW TO GET TO LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana is easily accessible by all means of transportation whereas the easiest and probably the most convenient way to reach it is by plane.
 
By Plane
Ljubljana is best served by Ljubljana International Airport at Brnik (http://www.lju-airport.si/eng/default.asp) which is situated 23 km northwest of the city. It is connected with all major European cities and airports (Frankfurt, Barcelona, Rome, Paris, London, Budapest, Munich and others).

The Slovene national air carrier with more than 45 years of experience in charter and scheduled traffic is Adria Airways (http://www.adria-airways.com/en/index.cp2).

For intercontinental flights we recommend a connecting flight via Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, London or Paris.

Bus service
Below you may find the frequent bus connections between Ljubljana Airport and the City of Ljubljana. Departures from Ljubljana Airport to Ljubljana City: - From Monday to Friday: Hourly from 5 to 20 - Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays: 7.00, 10.00, 12.00, 14.00, 16.00, 18.00, 20.00 Departures from Ljubljana City to Ljubljana Airport: - From Monday to Friday: Hourly from 5 to 20 - Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays: 6.10, 9.10, 11.10, 13.10, 15.10, 17.10, 19.10 The journey time is approximately 45 minutes and the tickets (5€) are purchased on the bus.
Taxi service The taxi rank is right in front of the terminal. Taxis are available according to the actual arrivals of flights. A fare from the Airport to Ljubljana City costs approximately 30€ (depending on the desired destination of the trip).

By Train
Ljubljana can be reached by train from all major European cities via Munich, Vienna, Graz, Zagreb, Trieste and Budapest. The railway station is located within a walking distance of the city centre and approximately 5 minutes away by car from the conference venue.

Ljubljana can be reached by car via one of the border crossings.

Transportation in Ljubljana

Ljubljana has a good bus transportation system. It is provided by the city buses of Ljubljana urban traffic (LPP) which operate from 5 am to 11 pm. The fare (1,25 EUR) is a standard one, irrespective of the distance or route traveled. The fare is written on the box located next to the driver but we advise you to pre-buy a number of plastic tokens needed at newsstands or post offices for a lower price (0,79 EUR). Also available are daily and weekly passes.

Taxis

HOW TO FIND THE FELU

First, see map.

By car
Coming from Maribor direction: At the Tomacevo roundabout drive in the direction Center turn into Vojkova Street (Vojkova cesta). At the third traffic light where you will notice the FELU sign turn right on Gosarjeva Street (Gosarjeva ulica) and then immediately turn left to enter the parking space.
Coming from directions Kranj, Koper or Novo mesto: At Ljubljana’s ring-road bypass drive until you reach the exit for the WTC (World Trade Centre), join Dunajska road (Dunajska cesta) in the direction Center and at the second traffic light (near AMZS) turn left into Baragova Street (Baragova ulica) which meets the Vojkova Street. When you reach Vojkova Street (Vojkova cesta), turn right and then right again into Gosarjeva Street (Gosarjeva ulica). Immediately after your turn you will notice a parking lot besides the FELU where we advise to park your car.

Parking
Parking at the FELU’s parking lot will be available free of charge for the participants of the SCOS conference.

By Plane
After arriving at Brnik Airport (link na http://www.lju-airport.si/eng/default.asp) you can take a taxi straight to Ljubljana or wait for the Adria Airways bus for the main bus station in Ljubljana, where you follow the directions for arriving by train.

By Bus or Train
At the main train station or bus station, walk to the bus stop at Bavarski dvor and wait for city bus number 6 or 8. Get off at the bus stop at the big white Mercator building and continue to follow the map where the location of the FELU is marked (tu naj bo na voljo priponka z zemljevidom). You can also take one of the many taxis waiting at the bus/train station.
